- By the end of the lesson, Students will be able to talk about celebrations/ holidays (Names/ Dates/ Purposes Activities). This lesson also aims to help students practice soft skills of working pairs and groups.

- Ss’ reading,writing, speaking and listening skills are improved.

IV.Teaching aids: Smartboard, handouts, group boards, student books ( Tiếng Anh 11)

3. While- speaking.
Activity 1 : Task 1. Mai is talking with Anna, her new English friend, about Tet holiday in Vietnam. Work in pairs. Practise reading the dialogue.
1.What celebration are they talking about?
2. What is the time of the celebration?
3.What is its purposes?
4. What are the activitives on the occasion?
Mai : Do you know that Tet holiday is next month?
Anna : What is Tet?
Mai : It’s the time when Vietnamese people celebrate the beginning of spring. It’s also the start of the lunar new year.
Anna : When is it exactly?
Mai : Well, this year it’s on the 9th of February.
Anna : What do you usually do at Tet?
Mai : Well, we eat a lot of special foods, we dress up and visit friends and relatives, and we also play some traditional games.
Anna : Oh, that sounds really interesting.
Activity 2 : Task 2: Match holidays with their main purpose and activities.
