I. OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Get more knowledge about TEENAGE RELATIONSHIPS.

- Develop SS’s listening and speaking skills:

3. Attitude:

- Take the study seriously

- To be more interested in learning English.

4. Competence:

- Self-study ability

- Presentation and reporting abilities.

II. MATERIAL NEEDED

1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc.

2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker

III. PROCEDURE:

1. Warmup: (5m)

Aims: Create warm atmostphere before starting the lesson and Lead SS into the topic of the lesson

* In your opinion, what is the ‘right’ age for a romantic relationship? Discuss with a partner?

* Suggested answer:

- A person should start a romantic relationship when he / she is at an age or stage in life when he / she is mature enough, and is ready for a possible marriage. For this reason, the right age can be different from person to person.

- A person should start a romantic relationship when he has his own work and can find money himself.

- Ask other SS to give comments.

- Give feedback.

- Lead into the lesson: Were going to listen to a talk about teenage relationships.

III. PROCEDURE: 
Warmup: (5m)

Activity 1. (10m)
- Tell Ss that this activity focuses on listening for general ideas.
- We are going to listen to a talk show between Vicky and Doctor Thomson. Decide which topic they are talking about.
A. The relation between parents and their children.
B. The teenage relationships.
C. The romantic relationships.
- Play the tape twice and call SS to give their answer. Then give feedback.
 2. Activity 2. (12 m)
- Ask SS to listen to the talk again and decide the statements are T or F.
1. From 13-16 years of age, many teenagers spend a lot of time thinking and talking about being in a relationship.
2. Young people may feel more confident
to talk about their relationships in the future if they openly discuss feelings and friendships with their parents.
3. Most parents are not willing to listen to their teenagers when they talk about romantic relationships.
4. Dr Thomson’s last advice to teenagers is that they should respect their parent’s view.
- Have Ss make guesses first. Encourage all possible answers and explanations. Write their guesses on the board so they can see if the guesses are correct later.
- Play the recording for SS to listen.
- Check SS' answers. 
3. Activity 3. (13 m)
- Listen again. Answer the questions.
1. What do teenagers need to do to prepare for becoming adults?
2. According to Dr Dawson, what should parents do when their children experience break-ups in their relationships?
3. Should parents strongly oppose their children’s romantic relationships?
4. Should teenagers be afraid to talk to their parents about their feelings and friendships?
- Play the recording for SS to listen again.
- Check SS' answers.
- Listen to the T’s introduction.
- Listen and do the task.
- Share the option they choose in front of the class.

- Make sure what they have to do:
Listen and decide T/F
- Work in individual read the sts and guess the answer first.
- Listen and decide the sts are T/F compare with the previous answers.
- Go over the answers with the T.

 - Teenagers from 15 to 19 spend a lot of time thinking and talking about being in a relationship. 
 - Young people learn how to form safe and healthy relationships with friends, parents, teachers and romantic partners.
+ Call SS to answer and check.
+ Teacher summaries main points of the lesson.
b. Homework: (1m)
- Do the task again	
- Prepare “unit2: Writing” at home.
