I. OBJECTIVE:

Introducing the textbook- English 11 (15m)
Aim: Sts understand how to use and learn by their textbook.
Method: Explanation, whole class
- Ask sts to open the book map & the units and introduce the textbook
1. Textbook introduction:
The Structure of the book: -There are ten units. In each unit, there are eight main parts: 
 + Getting started
+ Language: Vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar
 + Reading
+ Speaking
+ Listening
+ Writing
+ Communication and culture
+ Looking back and project
2. The system of testing.	
a. Listening skill:
	+ Listen and match
	+ Listen and number
	+ Listen and tick
	+ Listen and complete
	+ Listen and select the correct option
	+ Listen and give short answer

b. Reading skill
	+ Read and match

ACTIVITY 2:
Introducing the way of testing (5m)
Aims: Guide sts to know about the tests & exam
Methods: Explanation, whole class
- Introduce the structure of the 15 minute test, 45 minute test and final test of each term and of the school year
+ Each term will have three 15 minutes test and two 45 minutes test. The 45 minutes test will be done after each 2 units.
+ The final test will be done after each 5 units.
- Answer sts’s questions (if any)
- Listen to the teacher and take notes if necessary.
- Ask if there is any question
ACTIVITY 3:
Setting up some class regulations (5m)
-Aims: Set up some class regulations
- Methods: Communication, whole class
- Give some class regulations

Preparation for the project ( 2 groups of 5 sts for each project)

ACTIVITY 4: 
Reviewing English 10 (10m) 
Aims: Review sts’ knowledge

- Ask sts about the topics, grammar in each Unit of English 10.
- Stand up to say and take notes.

3. Consolidation and homework:
a. Consolidation: (2m)
- Teacher summaries main points of the lesson
- Students listen and add some more points

- Do the task again	
- Prepare Unit 1 – L1: Getting started at home
