I. OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

 - review the falling and rising intonations, words and phrases related to ASEAN, Gerund and state verbs in continuous forms.

2. Skills:

 - Develop skills to do tests

 - Help Ss develop the skill of working in pairs and groups

3. Attitude:

 - respect ASEAN countries and their diverse cultures

 - Serious, positive, proactive, independent to take part in group activities.

 - Showing passion & excitement in studying

 - Cultivate morality, love people, and love their homeland

4. Competence:

- Self-study ability

- Problem-solving ability

- Presentation capacity and reporting

II. MATERIAL NEEDED

1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc.

2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker

III. PROCEDURE:

1. Warmup: (2m)

Goal: Lead in the lesson

Tasks: Teacher inform Ss about the lesson’s objectives

Method: Work with the whole class

UNIT 5: BEING PART OF ASEAN
PERIOD 49: LESSON 8: LOOKING BACK&PROJECT
I. OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 
 - review the falling and rising intonations, words and phrases related to ASEAN, Gerund and state verbs in continuous forms.
2. Skills:
 - Develop skills to do tests
 - Help Ss develop the skill of working in pairs and groups 
3. Attitude:

PRONUNCIATION (6 m)
 Listen and practise saying the following sentences. Mark the intonation: rising 
( ) or falling ( )
Aim: Ss review about the intonation: rising 
Method: Work individually and then in pairs
 - Ask Ss to review the pronunciation rules for contracted and full forms. 
- Ask Ss to review what elision of vowels is and when this happens.
Play the recording and let Ss listen and remind them to use falling statements and rising intonation on yes/ no questions.

- Call on some Ss to give their answers
- Play the recording and let Ss check their answers.
- Feedback
- Review the pronunciation rules for the syllables with elision of weak vowels. 
- Do the task individually and then compare with a partner
- Give the answers.

 Rising intonation: 2,4
VOCABULARY
ACTIVITY 2: Complete the sentences with the words (a-f) (7m)
Aims: Ss review some words related to the topic
Methods: Work in
-Explain the activity aims to review the key vocabulary in the unit, and have Ss do it individually.
Remind Ss to put the words into the correct form according to its position in the sentences.
Check answers as a class by asking individual Ss to read their sentences.
Provide the correct answers.
- Do as appointed.
- Give the answers.
- Give comments.
- Check and take notes.

GRAMMAR
Aims: Ss review to make sentences with correct form of verbs.
Methods: Work in groups
ACTIVITY 1: Choose the correct form in brackets to complete each sentence (5m)
Have Ss work in pairs to work out the answers. 
Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.
Check Ss’ answers by asking individuals to take turns reading aloud their answers.
ACTIVITY 2: Complete the sentences with the verbs in the box. Use the correct forms (6 m)
Have Ss to tell the teacher again about the difference between usages of the past simple and the present perfect 
Have Ss do this activity orally first 
Check answers as a class.
Activity 3 : Choose the correct verb form to complete each of the sentences (6 m)
Have Ss work in pairs by taking turns reading each sentence and proving the right verb forms. 
Then check their answers as a class.
Activity 4 : Use the simple or progressive form of the verbs in brackets to complete the sentences (6m)
Ask five Ss to write their answers on the board while having the rest of the class do this activity in pairs. 
Give feedback on Ss’ answers and correct any mistakes.
