I. OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Talk about conflicts between teenagers and parents

- Express their opinions and advice on how to solve the problems between them

- Use the information they have read to discuss with their partners and share their opinions

 - Understand more about the conflicts between parents and teenage and they may know the way to avoid them.

2. Skills:

- Develop speaking’s skills

- Help sts develop the skill of working in pairs and groups

3. Attitude:

 - Serious, positive, proactive, independent to take part in group activities.

 - Showing passion & excitement in studying

 - Cultivate morality, love people, and love their homeland

4. Competence:

- Self-study ability

- Problem-solving ability

- Presentation capacity and reporting

UNIT 1: THE GENERATION GAP
PERIOD 5: LESSON 4: SPEAKING
I. OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 
- Talk about conflicts between teenagers and parents
- Express their opinions and advice on how to solve the problems between them
- Use the information they have read to discuss with their partners and share their opinions
 - Understand more about the conflicts between parents and teenage and they may know the way to avoid them.
2. Skills: 
- Develop speaking’s skills
- Help sts develop the skill of working in pairs and groups 
3. Attitude:

II. MATERIAL NEEDED
1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc.
2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker
III. PROCEDURE: 
1. Warmup: (5m)
Goal: Lead sts into the topic of the lesson
Tasks: Discussing
Method: Ask and answer.
- T calls on some sts and asks some questions about the topic to review.
- Lead into the lesson.
2. Contents:

ACTIVITY 1: Read and match (7m)
Aim: Sts know more about the conflicts between teenagers and their parents.
Method: Individual and pairs work
- Asks sts to read about three situations facing teenagers, and then match them with the problems a, b, or c in the box.
- Walks around and help if necessary
- Has sts compare their answers. Check sts' answers.
- Asks sts to further discuss if they have ever experienced these situations, and how they felt. They may give advice or express their opinions.
- Read and do their task

ACTIVITY 2: Read and tick (10m)
Aims: Help sts have ideas and useful language that they can use in activity 3 when they talk about their problems with parents.
Methods: Work in groups of 4 
- Asks sts to read the list of things teenagers and their parents complain about.
- Has them tick the complaints that they hear in their families.
- Encourages sts to add some more complaints if they can.
- Helps sts with any new language they may need to express their ideas.

ACTIVITY 3: Make conversation (18m)
Aims: Sts can speak about conflicts between teenagers and parents, and give opinions and advice to solve the problems
Methods: Work in pairs
- Asks sts to work in pairs and take turns to tell their partner what they or their siblings and their parents often complain about, and then practice giving advice on how to solve the problem.
- Encourages sts to use the structures listed in Helpful expressions.
- Asks some pairs to role-play their conversation, and give feedback 
- Work in pairs

3. Consolidation and homework:
a. Consolidation: (4m)
- Ask Ss to consolidate the main contents.
- Give feedback.
Suggested answer I can talk about conflicts between teenagers and parents. I can give opinions and advice on how to solve the problems between teenagers and parents.
b. Homework: (1m)
- Ask sts to practice the dialogue again at home and learn the new language
	- Ask them to prepare for the next part: Listening.
