- Pronounce contracted forms correctly.
- Use linking verbs to describe or identify the subject, and use cleft sentences for emphasis.
2. Skills: Develop listening, speaking and reading skills
3. Attitude:
- Serious, positive, proactive, independent to take part in group activities.
- Showing passion & excitement in studying
- Cultivate morality, love people, and love their homeland
4. Competence:
- Self-study ability
- Problem-solving ability
- Presentation capacity and reporting

Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Interact about listening and speaking - Vocabulary: words and phrases related to relationships of teenagers. - Pronounce contracted forms correctly. - Use linking verbs to describe or identify the subject, and use cleft sentences for emphasis. 2. Competence: - Self-study ability - Problem-solving ability - Presentation capacity and reporting II. MATERIAL NEEDED 1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc. 2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker III. PROCEDURE: 1. Warmup: (5m) Goal: Lead sts into the topic of the lesson Tasks: Ask and answer Method: Individually - Ask sts questions about the picture: What is the two people’s relationship? What are they talking or thinking about? Suggested answer: They are granma and grandaughter. The grandma is telling her granddaughter to focus on schoolwork while the granddaughter is thinking about romantic relationships. Lead in: We are going to study unit 2 “ Relationships” - getting started- To know more about relationships of teenagers. 2. Contents: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities ACTIVITY 1: Teaching vocabulary: (8m) Aim: Teaching vocabulary Method: observation skills and produce the new words. - Give out some vocabulary: Get involved (v) single-sex school (n.ph) opposite-sex school (n.ph) sympathetic (adj) strict (adj) - Read the above words out loud and has students repeat. - Let sts read in chorus 2 times and then individually - Check out the vocabulary. - Look at the given words and pictures to guests the meaning of the words. - Write down the words on the notebooks. - Read the words in chorus and individually. - Check. ACTIVITY 2: Listen & Read (10m) Aims: To help sts concentrate in listening to a conversation. Methods: Work individually. - Tell sts that they are going to listen to a conversation between a grandma and a granddaughter - Play the recording 2 times. - Tell sts not to worry about new language items as they will have a chance to come back to them later on. - Listen to the teacher. - Listen to the conversation and read along. - Take notes if necessary. ACTIVITY 3: Decide the Statements true (T), false (F) or not given (NG) (15m) Aims: To help sts understand the conversation through true false statements Methods: Work individually and then in pairs - Ask sts to read the statements and decide if they are true (T) or false (F) and refer to the conversation to find clues for their answers. - Ask sts to exchange their answers with their partners - Call on some sts to give out their answers. - Ask other to give comments - Feedback. - Do the task individually. - Exchange the answers with a partner - Give out the answers. - Give comments. - Check and take notes 1.T 2. F 5.T ACTIVITY 4: Finding out the verbs (5m) Aims: To help sts get some knowledge about linking verbs use with adjective and nouns Methods: Finding individually - Ask them to read the conversation again and find the verbs that come before the given words. - Call on 2 sts to write their answers on board. - Ask others to give comments - Feedback - Do the task individually. - Write down the answers. - Give comments. - Check and take notes 1. get 2. feel 3. are 4. sound 3. Consolidation and homework: a. Consolidation: (1m) - Teacher summaries main points of the lesson - Students listen and add some more points b. Homework: (1m) - Do the task again. - Prepare for the next lesson to get more knowledge about compound noun.
