I. OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Revise the language and skills they have learnt in units 4,5.

+ Vocabulary: Words / phrases related to topics “Caring for those in need”, and “Being part of ASEAN"

+ Pronunciation: Elision of weak vowels before |n|, |l|, |r|; Falling and rising intonation.

+ Grammar: The Past Simple, The Present Perfect, Gerunds and State verbs in the continuous forms.

- Practice doing exercises related to the vocabulary and grammar points of these 2 lessons.

2. Skills

- Develop SS’s listening and speaking and writing skills:

3. Attitude:

- Take the study seriously

- To be more interested in learning English.

4. Competence:

- Self-study ability

- Co-operative and reporting abilities.

PERIOD 50: 
REVIEW LANGUAGE& SKILLS
I. OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 
- Revise the language and skills they have learnt in units 4,5.

II. MATERIAL NEEDED
1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc.
2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker
III. PROCEDURE: 
Warm up: (5 m)
* Aims: Create warm atmostphere before starting the lesson and lead SS into the topic of the lesson.
Choose the best answer to complete the following sentences.
1. A________ is a series of actions intended to achieve a goal.
	A. campaign	B. impairment	C. donation	D. condition
2. I used to ___________ children who wanted to do a sport.
	A. volunteer	B. change	C. coach	D. improve
3. No one can’t stop him from reaching his dream. He is really a ______ person.

- Ask other SS to give comments.
- Give feedback.
- Lead into the lesson: We’re going to review the contents of unit 3 and 4.

I. Vocabulary: 
Aims:- Ss get the meaning of the words or phrases and know how to use the words in the context.
Method: Work in individually / in pairs.
Task 1: Complete the sentences using the correct forms of the words in brackets (6 m)
- Ask Ss to do this activity individually, and then compare their answers with a partner. 
- Check answers as a class and write the correct sentences on the board.
Task 2: Complete the following sentences with suitable words from the box (6 m)

- Check answers as a class and write the correct ones on the board.
Pronunciation: 
Aim: Get Ss to read the sentences with the correct intonation.
Method: work in individually/ in a pairs.
Task 3: Listen to the sentences spoken with falling intonation and read them aloud. (7m)
- Ask Ss to do this activity individually, then compare their answers with a partner. 
- Play the recording again and check answers as a class.
 - Then have Ss practise reading the sentences aloud using appropriate intonation.
III. Grammar:
Aims: Ss review to make sentences with correct form of verbs.
Methods: Work in groups
Task 4: Put the verb into the correct form, the present perfect, the simple past, or the past progressive. (6 m)
Ask Ss to do this activity individually. 
 Elicit the form and use of the present perfect tense and the past simple tense. 
Ask a student to do the activity on the board while the rest of the class works on it individually.
Check Ss' answers, or ask them to explain their choice of tenses. If necessary, refer Ss to the Do you know.., ? box on page 40.
Task 5: Complete these sentences using the correct forms of the verbs in the box. (6 m)
Elicit the form and use of gerunds and infinitives.
Ask Ss to do this activity individually, and then compare their answers with a partner. 
Ask a student to write his / her sentences on the boord. Then check the answers with the whole class.
Task 6. Choose the correct form of the verb in brackets. (6 m)
Write the correct sentences on the board, and give explanations for their choice of verb forms if necessary.
Ask Ss to do this activity individually and then compare their answers with a partner. 
Have Ss write the correct sentences on the board, and give explanations for their choice of verb forms if necessary.
