I. OBJECTIVE:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Read for specific in an article about the time –management skills, understand word meaning in context and understand references.

2. Skills: Develop reading’s skills

- To promote Ss to develop their reading skills

- Skim the text to get the general idea

- Scan the text to get some specific details

3. Attitude:

 - Serious, positive, proactive, independent to take part in group activities.

 - Showing passion & excitement in studying

 - Cultivate morality, love people, and love their homeland

4. Competence:

- Self-study ability

- Problem-solving ability

- Presentation capacity and reporting

II. MATERIAL NEEDED

1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc.

2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker

III. PROCEDURE:

1. Warmup: (5m)

Goal: Lead sts into the topic of the lesson

Tasks: Ask and answers

Method: Whole class.

 - Teacher ask sts about their time and time management.

 (Students’ private answers)

- Lead in the lesson.

UNIT 3: BECOMING INDEPENDENT 
PERIOD 22: LESSON 3: READING
I. OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 
- Read for specific in an article about the time –management skills, understand word meaning in context and understand references.
2. Skills: Develop reading’s skills

- Skim the text to get the general idea

ACTIVITY 1: Brainstorming and vocabulary (10 m)
Aim: Sts brainstorm about the topic and get some vocabulary.
Method: Work in pairs and in the whole class
 - Ask sts to work in pairs to ask and answer the 3 questions.
- Call on some sts to give their answers.
- Ask others to give comments.
- Feedback
* Pre-teach vocabulary:
1. deadline (n)
2.strive for (v): make a lot of effort to achieve (st)
3.figure out (v): to be able to understand or to solve a problem
4.prioritize (v): ưu tiên

- Introduces new vocabulary; conduct choral repetition of the words; elicits words’ meanings.
- Ask sts to read the words in chorus and individually.

ACTIVITY 2: (5 m)
Aims: Sts 
Methods: Work in
- Give the instruction: Read the text and select the statement that expresses its main idea
- Ask sts to read the four statement A, B, C, D first and make sure they understand all of them
- Ask sts to read through the text once without stopping at the words that they don't know the meaning
- Ask sts to work in pairs to decide on the
main idea of the whole text
- Help them eliminate the choice that is only one aspect of the text.
- Call on st to give his/her answer.
- Feedback
- Listen and take notes.
- Read the statements to understand them clearly	.
- Do the task in pairs

ACTIVITY 3: Deciding whether the statements are T/F or NG (7m)
Aims: Sts get specific information through T/F/NG statements.
Methods: Work in pairs
- Give the instruction: Read the text again. Decide whether the sentences are T, F or NG
- Ask sts to work in pairs and do the task.
- Call on some sts to give theirs answers.
- Ask others to give comments.
- Feedback

ACTIVITY 4: Answering the question (8m) 
Aims: Sts get more specific information
Methods: Work in groups
- Give the instructions and then ask sts to review the way to do this kind of task. 
- Put sts in groups of 3, ask them to read the questions first to make sure they understand them by asking them to underline key words
- Let sts read the text again and locate the parts of the text where they can get the answers.
- Call on some sts to give theirs answers.
- Ask others to give comments.

1.With good time management skills, you don't feel very stressed when exam dates are approaching; you can act more independently and responsibly, get better grades at school and have more time for family and friends.
2. Write the things you will have to do on a planner or an app on your mobile device, and put time limits on them

4. Decide what is important to you and give it the most of your time or add it to the top of your list

ACTIVITY 5: Discussing (7m) 
Aims: Sts practice talking about the topic
Methods: Work in groups
- Ask sts to work in groups, discuss the questions freely
- Call on some sts to report their result of discussing.
- Ask others to give comments.

- Discuss and then report it.

3. Consolidation and homework 
a. Consolidation: (2m)
- Teacher summaries main points of the lesson
- Students listen and add some more points
b. Homework: (1m)
- Do the task again	
- Prepare the next lesson at home.
