1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Vocabulary: words and phrases related to global warming

- Pronunciation: intonation in yes-no questions and echo-questions

- Grammar: perfect gerunds and perfect participles.

2. Skills:

- develop Listening, reading, writing, speaking skills

3. Attitude:

- be aware of the need to solve the global warming problem.

- Serious, positive, proactive, independent to take part in group activities.

- Showing passion & excitement in studying

- Cultivate morality, love people, and love their homeland

4. Competence:

- Self-study ability

- Problem-solving ability

- Presentation capacity and reporting

II. MATERIAL NEEDED

1. Teacher: Textbook, lesson plan, cassette player, disc.

2. Students: Students’ books, learning tools, drafting paper and/or extra board, marker

PERIOD 56: LESSON 2: LANGUAGE 
I. OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 
- Vocabulary: words and phrases related to global warming

- Grammar: perfect gerunds and perfect participles.

III. PROCEDURE: 
1. Warmup: (4m) 
Goal: Ss focus on the lesson.
Tasks: Guess the words relating to each picture 
T asks Ss to look at the pictures and guess the words relating to each picture, (T can give some missing letters if necessary)
 Answer : Protecting our earth!
Lead in: Now you are going to study some words relating to the topic global warming.

Complete the sentences, using the words in the box 
solidarity, cooperation, dominate, constitution, principle, scholarship
Aim: Ss know and practice vocabulary through exercises.
Method: Work in pairs and work with the whole class.
- Ask Ss to complete the sentences
- Have Ss work individually first. Then ask them to work in pairs, and compare their answers.
- Call on some pairs to give their answers.
- Ask others to give comments.
- Feedback

II. PRONUNCIATION
1. Activity 1: (6m)
Listen and repeat. Pay attention to the intonation
Aim: - Introduce the part and instruct Ss to read the demand to know what to read correctly
Note: Intonation is the rise and fall of a speaker’s voice, and is important in communication.
- Play the recording and let Ss listen
- Play it again with pauses for them to repeat each word
- Do as appointed
- Pay attention to the intonation
2. Activity 2: Listen and mark the symbol of rising intonation (5m)
Ss repeat each sentence without any pauses.
- Play the recording again for Ss to listen, pausing after each sentence.
- Ask Ss to practice reading the sentences.
- Call on some Ss to read out the sentences. Praise Ss who pronounce correctly.
- Look at the exercise and listen to the tape
- Listen to the tape and practice reading them.
- Listen to the teacher.

GRAMMAR (20m)
Perfect participles in clauses of time and reason 
Aims: Ss know the use of Perfect participles in clauses of time and reason.
Methods: work in groups/ in pairs
Activity 1: Underline the perfect participles in the sentences 
-Ask Ss to work in groups to do exercise
. Ask them to write their answers on vice-board
- Monitor the activity and help them if necessary.
- Ask Ss to hang their vice-board on board.
- Ask Ss to give comments.
- Feedback and give correct answers
Activity 2: Match the two parts to make complete sentences
- Ask Ss to read the blue box and review the use and structure of the perfect participles.
- Ask Ss to do the task then compare the answer with their partner
