I. OBJECTIVE:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 
- Get more knowledge about adjectives and adverbs of manner.
- Practice using them in sentences correctly. .

1. Warmup: (5m)
Aims: Create warm atmostphere before starting the lesson and Lead SS into the topic of the lesson
+ Complete the table with correct word form.

2. Contents of the lesson:

1.Adjectives and adverbs of manner. (15 m)
- Take examples to illustrate the adj and adv: 
+ "That boy is so loud!"
 -> Adjective
 + "That boy speaks so loudly!" 
 -> Adverb of manner
- An adjective describes a noun or pronoun: An adverb describes a verb or anything apart from a noun and pronoun: Adverbs are used to answer how questions e.g. "How does he talk? - He talks loudly."
- In English grammar, an adverb of manner is an adverb (such as quickly or slowly) that describes how and in what way the action of a verb is carried out. Also called a manner adverb and a manner adverbial. Most adverbs of manner are formed by adding “-ly” to adjectives, but there are important exceptions (e.g., well).
- Ask SS to find adj and adv from these roof words:
+ sudden
+ happy
+ warm
+ quick
+ late
+ good
+ bad
+ angry
+ hard
- Help SS to give the correct word forms.
- Pay attention to the T carefully to make sure the use of adj and adv.
+ Note: What is an Adj/ adv and its position in the Sts.
- Stamp on mind the uses and differences between adj and adv.
- Work individually then in pair to compare the answer:

- Practise pronounce words correctly.
2. Practice exercises
a. Underline the correct word to complete the sentences. (10 m)
1. John, What’s the matter with you? You look (unhappy /unhappily).
2. They greeted the visitors (warm / warmly) and made them feel welcome.
3. Ba (sudden / suddenly) appeared from behind the door and said hello to us.
4. Susan felt (excited / excitedly)when Alan suggested a date.
5. Who is he shouting at? He sounds very (angry /angrily).
6. He kept beeping the car horn loudly and the other drivers got (annoyed / annoyingly).
7. The food in the fridge smells (awful / awfully). Don’t eat it.
8. Potato plants will grow very (quick / quickly) in warm and sunny weather.
- Ask Ss to read the sentences carefully and identify adj and adv.
b. Rewrite the following sts. (10m)
- Give SS exercise do the model and ask SS to do themselves.
Eg: Lan is good at cooking.
-> Lan cooks very well.
1. She is a very quick typer.
2. He is a good dancer.
3. They are very slow at writing.
4. That little boy speaks so loudly.
5. They drive very dangerously.
- Call SS to write down the answers on board and check.
- Ask SS to practice speaking the given Sts fluently.
Work in pair, discuss and give the answers.

- Pay attention to the T and correct mistakes if any.
- Write down example then do the task as guided. 
- Work individually.

- Make sure the correct answers.
- Practice speaking fluently.
3. Consolidation and homework . 
a. Consolidation: (4 m)
* Ask SS to do the task: Choose the best answers
1. She is the most ..dancer. (beautiful/beautifully)
2. They gave us a welcome. (warm/ warmly)
3. Please speak . I can’t hear your voice. (loud/ loudly)
* Answers: 1- beautiful; 2 – warm; 3 - loudly
+ Call SS to answer and check.
+ Teacher summaries main points of the lesson.
b. Homework: (1m)
- Do the task again	
- Prepare “unit2: Reading” at home.
